뒤에 부정사가 오는 동사들

수 많은 다양한 동사들의 경우 부정사 형태의 두번째 동사가 뒤에 올 수 있습니다. 이 페이지에 열거된 모든 동사들은 부정사가 사용된ㄴ 경우 to 부정사가 뒤에 오게 됩니다. 별표 표시된 동사들의 경우엔 예로 제시된 문장들에서 볼 수 있듯이 that절이 뒤에 올 수도 있습니다. 두개의 별표가 표시된 동사들은 주동사의 주어가 "it"인 경우 that절만이 뒤에 올 수 있습니다.

뒤에 명사 + 부정사가 오는 동사들

that절 앞에 명사가 오지 않는 동사들

몇몇의 동사들은 that절이 뒤에 오는 경우, 부정사 앞에 명사가 왔더라도 that절 앞에 명사가 오지 않습니다. 동사 command, direct, entreat, implore, order, require trust가 이러한 경우입니다. 

  • I trust you to tell the truth.
  • I trust that you are telling the truth.
  • The general commanded his men to surrender.
  • The general commanded that his men surrender.
that절 앞에 명사가 오는 동사들

다른 동사들의 경우 that절이 뒤에 오면 그 that절 앞에 부정사의 경우와 마찮가지로 명사가 와야 합니다. 동사 persuaderemind가 이러한 경우입니다. 

  • You can't persuade people to buy small cars.
  • You can't persuade people that small cars are better.
  • He reminded me to take my notebook to school.
  • He reminded me that I would need my notebook.
that절 앞에 명사가 올 수도 안올 수도 있는 동사들

마지막 부류의 동사들은 that절이 뒤에 오면 해당 that절 앞에 명사의 배치가 선택적입니다. 동사 instruct, teach 및 warn의 경우가 이러한 경우입니다. 

  • She taught her students to appreciate poetry.
  • She taught her students that poetry was valuable.
  • She taught that poetry was valuable.

부정사 또는 명사 + 부정사가 뒤에 오는 동사들

to dare 용법

부정문과 의문문의 경우 두 동사의 주어가 동일한한 to 부정사나 원형 부정사가 올 수 있습니다. 하지만 'to'를 생략하는 것이 더 일반적입니다. 만약 두 동사의 주어가 서로 다르다면, to를 포함해야 합니다.

  • I never dared tell him what happened.
  • Do you dare tell him?
  • Would you dare (to) jump out of a plane?
  • I dare you to tell him the truth.
  • She dared me to jump off the wall.
