희망, 의도 그리고 약속 전달하기

의도, 희망 또는 약속을 전달할 때, 우리는 적절한 전달 동사와 'would'가 포함된 'that' 절이나 to 부정사 절을 뒤에 사용합니다. 이 패턴에 사용된 동사들은 다음과 같습니다: hope, promise, threaten, guarantee, 및 swear. 'that'은 아래 첫번째 예에서 보이듯이 that 절을 사용할 때 선택적입니다.

"Give me the keys to the safe or I'll shoot you!" he shouted.	He threatened to shoot me if I didn't give him the keys to the safe. 또는 He threatened that he would shoot me if I didn't give him the keys to the safe.
"I will not tell anyone your secret" he said.	He swore that he would not tell anyone my secret. 또는 He swore not to tell anyone my secret.
